The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio. Founded in 1979, They merged with Food Rescue of Northeast Ohio in 2001. In 2006, they were named Member of the Year by America’s Second Harvest out of 220 food banks nationwide.
In 2022, they opened a 200,000-square-foot partner distribution hub. In 2023 alone,they served 424,000 people across Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Ashland, and Richland counties.

There Help Center connects food-insecure individuals with the assistance they need. The Help Coordinators can complete free, confidential applications over the phone for SNAP (formerly Food Stamps), Medicaid, and other public benefits. They can also help you find food, apply for public benefits, and connect you to additional resources, including those at our Community Resource Center.

In their service area, one in seven people is food insecure—and one in four children is at risk of hunger. They know people sometimes need a helping hand. Many turn to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank for support.
They serve neighbors in Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula, Richland, and Ashland counties and can connect anyone to nearby hot meal programs, food pantries, mobile pantries, and senior and kids programs.
